Who doesn't love chocolate??

This is what I have been doing for the last 24 hrs. These are Hershey Bars with the Support Adoption wrappers. They are sealed. As I said, I am selling them for $2.50. And if you have any need for fundraising, let me know and maybe I could make some wrappers for you too :)

Fundraising Begins

Well, no sooner than Eric and I decided about adopting, the flip side of things came up. Money ... where in the world are we going to come up with the finances for our adoption? So we are delving into fundraising prospects!! I have come up with one great idea that I have been working on all day so far .... selling candy bars. Now I know this is not a new idea .. but, they have special wrappers on them saying "Help Support the Adoption of Korianna Paige Pittman Born in Kazakstan, Birthed in our Hearts!" And the back of the wrapper says "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him" 1 Sam 1:27 (NIV).
Pretty cool eh?! I have already made like a case of them and I will post pics soon. If anyone wants to buy any, they're $2.50 a piece ... and if you would like to participate in selling, email me and I'll hook you up! ericforpastor@yahoo.com

Here we go

Eric and I are starting our journey in adoption and Korianna Paige will be the name of our little girl. We have decided to adopt from Kazakhstan through Villa Hope based here in B'ham. For those of you who know us ... know that this will be our second go around with the adoption process. The first time was in 2003 through Children of the World based out of Fairhope, Al. We went through China. It, however, was a disaster and total heartbreak! We never got our referral due to an arrest of Eric from 15 years before. We were devastated and I shut down mentally and emotionally for 3 years and I swore I would NEVER try the adoption thing again! Now fast forward to 2009 ... and you have the title of this blog ... Here we go .... You know, God is an amazing healer - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! HE has healed my wounds in all areas and HE gave me the desire to go through this adoption again. No to mention the total peace that he has given us! Praise God!! I will keep ya'll posted as things progress. Please be in prayer for Eric and me .... this is going to be quite a journey for us, but God is with us and he is our provider and we WILL have our daughter with us one day!!
